- ExxonMobil grants 30 laptops to public schools to improve their student’s access to technology and information
- Zona Verde Secondary School and the Bonifacio Gruveta Secondary School are the beneficiaries of the laptops
The schools, Bonifacio Gruveta located in Khongolote and Zona Verde located in Zona Verde, were identified in coordination with MINEDH based on need to receive laptops. The donation was carried out in the presence of the representative of the Ministry Mr. Luis Amiel, the Provincial representative of Transversal Issues, Jose Luis Manjate and the school directors.
“Education is a key pillar of ExxonMobil’s Community strategy and we work with local authorities to support the sector,” said Jos Evens, General Manager for ExxonMobil Moçambique, Limitada. “The laptops will support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), which is an area we prioritize.
“The donation, which builds on the existing partnership and relationship with the Ministry of Education and Human Development, comes days after the official launch of the national school system. The donation will build on students’ interest in technology and facilitate their access to computers for research and assignments.
“We are pleased to be able to count on the private sector to support the national education system. Said Luis Amiel, representing the Ministry of Education and Human Development. “These laptops will assist the students with access to technology and information, and improve the school’s offering.”
