ExxonMobil donates personal protective equipment to Maputo Central Hospital

MAPUTO, Mozambique — ExxonMobil Moçambique, Limitada (EMML) donated personal protective equipment to the Maputo Central Hospital to support the efforts to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 among health workers. The donation, which consisted of 7,500 masks and 1,000 surgical gloves, was made to the Emergency Transit Ward in support of medical staff who are treating COVID-19 patients.

“Many are being affected by this pandemic and we have a shared responsibility in responding to this crisis,” said Jos Evens, general manager for ExxonMobil Moçambique, Limitada. “We commend the critical work of the medical professionals who manage the effects of the pandemic on a daily basis.”

In 2020, ExxonMobil Moçambique, Limitada previously donated 165 liters of hand sanitizer, 6,700 masks and more than 25,000 gloves to the Ministry of Health and the Provincial Health Authorities in Cabo Delgado. They have worked with the Ministry of Health to create the TINA animated public service announcement to raise awareness about COVID-19 and teach prevention measures (Link)
